Hey everybody. I am really excited to be able to present to you a new album unlike any you've ever heard.
As many of you already know, I have been writing songs about faith for many years now. Many of those compositions were songs that told stories.
Well, I have always wanted to write an album of songs that took the listener on a grand adventure through the life of an ordinary person. A person who struggles to find life's meaning and to make sense of the bad things that happen in our lives. What if that story was told with music and lyric? What if the characters could come to life and feel real to the listener, all while enjoying the musical and vocal talents of the leading professionals in our field? Well... after many, many months of creative work and sweat, we have accomplished just that. And now we are ready to present our work to you.
We hope that you will look around the website to discover more about this unique recording. We hope that you will listen to it and enjoy it. And then we hope that you will come back here and let us know what you think about it.
If you are blessed by it's message... if the story touches your heart... if it speaks to you... then this is the place to share your feelings with all of us who had a hand in creating it, and with the new folks who are just discovering The Fields of Love.
I will be dropping back in from time to time to add my own comments. So will some of the other creative folks involved.
Enjoy!

Seldom would I ever critique anyone else’s work. Greg Bentley at Crossroads
tuned me on to the ministry of Mark Bishop about 6 years ago. I have to say that was the beginning of great admiration for a young man obviously more concerned about ministry than entertainment. His music is entertaining, but the Gospel is always paramount in the lyrics he so skillfully pens down.
Greg sent me this newest musical endeavor this last week and I took about a 45 minute break to devote listening to it without interruption. One problem though was I was driving my Chevy truck while listening. I nearly had to pull over at least 3 times as I was either blinded by tears or incapacitated by waving arms during a shouting spell.
I was raised listening to Gospel music. My family had a Sunday morning ritual of biscuits & gravy, Gospel Caravan and the Gospel Singing Jubilee. I don’t think I am a novice when it comes to knowing great Gospel music when I hear it. OK, here goes. I have NEVER been so moved by any recording as I have been by “The Fields of Love.” I have to say this latest from Mark Bishop is his Opus! I believe it is the best overall project I have had the honor of listening to. On the way to the airport this morning I had my wife and daughter listen to it without interruption. Both responded as I did and my wife went through at least one travel size Kleenex package.
I whole heartily recommend this wonderful new masterpiece from Mark. Great job Mark and I hope Crossroads lets me keep some on my own table so I might introduce others to this unbelievable new CD.

I've already ordered my CD and can hardly wait until it arrives! I'm really excited about hearing the new music.
I just finished reading the story and lyrics and found myself sobbing. It feels like you wrote this for me. Thank you Mark for continuing to be so much a part of my healing. It's been just over a year and, thanks mostly to you, I really do believe again that God is listening.
This is the best album that I have heard in a long time. Mark is a great song writer and this may be his best work.
It's great to see someone in Southern Gospel music doing something "progressive" without compromising the musical style and staying true to their musical roots.
This album is progressive- it pushes the envelope - but it never sells out.
Dove Award material.
PS...It is a wonderful package - CD, booklet, the only thing missing is the box of kleenex!
What a great idea for an album. This is really fun to listen to. If you don't have a copy yet, you don't know what you're missing.
I wish somebody would make this into a movie.
"The Fields of Love" is a very vivid and touching drama; Mark is good at conveying emotion. However, it includes some theologically questionable ideas. For example, the idea that departed souls look down and intercede for the living.
