It's trivia time again! Hip hip hooray!
This one is going to be a little bit different. We need your creativity here.
Imagine that the Fields of Love was being made into a movie. You are the casting agent. Who would you hire to play the roles of these characters?
Make it your dream cast... your ultimate picks, living or dead. Maybe you'd like to have seen Jimmy Stewart as the farmer... or maybe you think The Oak Ridge Boys should play the Shooting Star Quartet! Be creative and have some fun with it!
Of course, deciding the winner will be up to the panel of judges and completely subjective. The judges will be Brandon, Steve and myself.
The cut-off date for your submission will be next Monday night at midnight, August 4th. That gives you a little while to mull over your picks and then to convince us that your picks are inspired. Post your message here, so everyone else can enjoy it too. Leave an email address or you can email it to us separately at trivia@markbishopmusic.com if you don't want to post it.
The winner will win a prize package that includes a Mark Bishop Cafe T-shirt, in your size, a souvenir program book from the last Bishops Homecoming and a Pilgrimage Tour cd featuring music from the Bishops and more.
Get your thinking caps on and join the fun!

Son- Matthew Laborteaux- for his role as Albert Ingall on Little House on the Prairie
Tent Preacher- James Earl Jones- for his timeless voice
Shooting Star Quartet- The Original Hopper Brothers and Connie, for their spirit and dedication to gospel music
This is fun.
I could see this being acted out by the original cast of The Waltons.
It seems like that sort of setting to me. Or maybe The Little House on the Praire. I see that Kathey chose Michael Landon for the role of the farmer
Imagine the son and dad from "Old Yellar"... That would be Fess Parker and Tommy Kirk.
The quartet could be played by Brian Free and Assurance.
The old time preacher could be played by John Hagee.
The mom could be played by Dawn Wells (Mary Ann from Gilligans Island).
Farmer- Dale Midkiff
The reason that I thought of Dale Midkiff was because of his role in Love Comes Softly. He was softspoken on the movie, and the story said that "it wasn't his(the farmer's) way to explode."
Boy-Patrick Laborteaux for his role as Andy Garvey in Little House on the Prairie
Mother- Kellie Martin for her role as Christy Huddleston on Christy
Quartet- Cathedrals
Preacher- T.D. Jakes
The farmer- James Brolin
The wife- Madeleine Stowe (Last of The Mohicans)
The son- Ricky Nelson (from Ozzie and Harriet days)
Shooting Star Quartet- The Kingdom Heirs!
Tent evangelist- Mark Bishop cameo
Ok everyone... the contest deadline has come. The jury will convene and we will deliver a verdict sometime this evening.
We will then notify the winner and get you your prize package! Hooray!
The judging panel has reached a decision... and it wasn't easy!
All of us liked some of the choices from just about everybody, so we had to decide to go with the person who had the most choices we all liked.
And the winner is... Rebekah!
Everyone agreed that her choice for the actor for the farmer was spot on... also for the farmers wife... and we are all fans of the Cathedrals too!
Some honorable mentions... we also liked Kathey's Michael Landon choice. Steve really liked Elaine's Henry Fonda choice. Brandon lobbied for some of Carla's choices, especially Robert Duvall and I thought it was creative to think of Mary Ann from Gilligans Island as the farmers wife.
Thanks to everyone for playing. By all means, even though the contest is over, feel free to continue to post your inspired ideas for casting.
Who knows... maybe one day, we will really be casting for a Fields of Love movie!
Thanks!!!
I tried e-mailing you my address but it kept sending back a delivery failure notice. So here's my address:
